Ramadugu is the sculpture town of Telangana, India. Legend says Lord Rama stayed here during his exile, leaving footprints which gave village its name. Around 50 families still work there by working on stone sculptures of gods, politician and others. ‘Amrutha Shila’, the smooth stone takes more time to chisel, hence the artists moved to making sculptures in Granite for which they can use tools. Telangana is rich in art and culture and Ramadugu is a clear example for that.

Trash or treasure it all depends on whose hands are holding it. The Charminar Sunday market has pulled me back for years. I come for the antiques, yes, but more for the hands of the buyers, the sellers, the way they touch things. Every object here carries a story, passed down through generations, now waiting for someone to recognize its worth again.
